Permanent placement is necessary due to the tuning process required to project the optimal video image onto the screen. If mounting the projector on the ceiling, drill access holes in the ceiling and run AC power as well as the TV cables through the crawl space above the ceiling before mounting the home theater projector.
Set up the screen you will be using to project the high definition image onto. Set up your cable, satellite or outside antenna junction box in a convenient location that's accessible to remote control signals and near a power outlet.
Measure the distance from the permanently mounted projector location to the TV reception device in Step 2. Use an adequate length of shielded high definition video cable to run from the TV reception device to the projector mounting location. Because the home theater projector has no facility for audio output, make sure you make space for an audio control center and a surround sound speaker system.

Attach HDMI-type gold anodized connectors to each end of the cable. The gold anodized connectors and shielded HDMI cable minimize video signal line loss if the cable length is greater than 10 feet. Attach the connectors to the shielded cable using electronic flux solder. Plug all the units into AC power, then turn on and adjust the home theater projector resolution using the built-in tuning grid that's commonly found on higher-end units.
If your unit doesn't have one, turn on the TV signal junction box and adjust resolution using the off-air TV signals. Joe Murray began writing professionally in As a technical writer, he authored white papers and articles for Hewlett Packard and Intel. Since retiring, Murray has written several home-exchange travel articles for KnowYourTrade. I got hit with car repairs and a rent increase and the only thing I could think of to help myself was to cut what little TV service I had.
I was surprised when upon hooking up the coax cable to my TV that I received 20 channels, including some cable channels that I missed terribly and didn't even receive by paying for them. I started looking around for information and ran across digital converter boxes. I should've went with the box without the antenna because the antenna doesn't do squat for me. It only receives four channels of WRNN and five different channels from a religious outfit. Yeah, I got a better selection with the coax line.
Live and learn, I didn't know how this would work really and thought I'd get everything I'd need at once. I could've saved myself a few bucks. Upon hooking up the digital converter it scanned for channels it takes a while and I was surprised to find how many I received and how clear they were. Unfortunately, what channels I had on the antenna line did not come in on the converter box. So, I had a splitter and I used that - the antenna line from the wall into the splitter, then the splitter going in two directions - one to the converter box, and the other directly to the TV.
I can easily flip back and fourth between my two "services" with my TV's remote with the "input" button from the converter and antenna and get all channels. At first the reception from the antenna channels was very poor and then I changed cables. I haven't had time to play around with recording and playback, so I can't mention that experience. Regardless, if this box didn't have a recording feature I would still love it as much as I do. The selection of channels will vary depending on your area - I'm north of the suburbs of NYC and I get Add in the converter box and I get: Some of the channels pop up two or three times.

And I ain't paying squat for monthly service. When switching channels I notice a slight delay before the channel comes on. Like, if you are a channel surfer during commercials you might not have enough time as you usually would. Also, on some channels the audio doesn't sync up for a few seconds when first changing channels but then clears up and syncs with no problems.
Neither are not a real big deal for me, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone thinks there's an issue. The Not So Good: No information shows up. I'm not sure if I can schedule recordings or not. I think I can from looking around, but it's harder as I will have to enter all information manually.
Who ever wrote the manual needs to explain some things more. I'm assuming Service Name is the channel name and Service ID is the numbers related to the channel or the code numbers. Before you use abbreviations, explain them! Overall, I'm very happy with the converter box. I can delete what channels I won't watch, which is good because it scans sooooo many of them - up to for me with many, many sub channels on most of them. Not every channel has something on it and is blank - that's not the converters fault though.

I can also reorder them into my own custom line up. I would recommend this converter box for anyone wishing to cut the cord and cable costs. I'm actually getting more channels and a better selection than when I was paying for TV! I can't think of a single channel that I had when I was paying that I miss. Regarding the pictures - I have a slight glare from a light going on so the skin tone is off on one or two, but you can see how clear the picture is with no static or lines running through it.
Check a local Walmart if you're unsure if this will work for up. About two months after I bought this through Amazon I was in Walmart and saw that they had some of the same type of boxes. This way, if it doesn't work it's easier to return. My husband and I cancelled cable last month. We still got a lot of channels by plugging the cable line into the tv. When our cable provider switched to all digital, however, we lost every channel, including the free ones. This eXuby product saves the day.

I can now watch the news and channels 2, 4, and 7. I get about 17 more throw away channels that play old shows and home shopping, but just having the major networks works for me. I live about 30 miles from the tower, which I checked out before buying the product. I just needed an antennae and converter box for an old analog TV when my cable service went all-digital, which this device handles, but I was very impressed with all the built-in features. Even though I'm using it in a basement room, the small antennae pulls in most of the local channels -- as many as a much more expensive antennae I'm using upstairs.
Of course, my analog TV doesn't have HDMI input, but it's nice that this can be connected that way as well as by component or coaxial cables. Does what it says.
Delivered on time and well packaged. Need to buy a flash drive with decent storage to record your shows. We use a 64 GB flash drive. No internal storage on this digital converter box. Pretty much just like a DVR. This box will only record shows that come in through the antenna, it will not record through other sources. When shows record the box does not tell what show was recorded so make sure to set the correct time and date and after the recording go to the recorded show section and you can label the show for future reference.

Also the remote is a little tricky as well, need to point the remote directly at the box or it will not get the signal to do what you are trying to do. We were hesitant to get rid of satellite TV because of the dvr but this device made it do-able. A very good option when looking to get rid of cable and satellite.
